Static Site Generator

The site is generated using Zola, a fast and flexible static site generator written in Rust. Zola’s simplicity and performance make it a great choice for building this site. I am also exploring the creation of a custom static site generator written in Swift. Currently, I use a Swift based command-line tool to automate parts of the site, such as generating monthly updates and the numbers page.

Hosting and Domain

The website is hosted on Cloudflare, which provides reliable and secure hosting. The domain, peterspath.net, is registered through 1984.is, a provider focused on privacy and free speech. Email services are handled by Fastmail, ensuring dependable and private communication.

Styling

The visual design is based on the Duckquill theme for Zola, created by daudix. I have heavily customised Duckquill to align with my specific needs, tailoring the look and feel to match the site’s identity while keeping it clean and user-friendly.

Purpose

This colophon reflects the tools and choices behind peterspath.net. It is a living document, updated as the site evolves, especially as I experiment with new technologies like my Swift-based generator.
