The Holy Bible - Revelation

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Book of Revelation is the last book of the Bible, written by the apostle John around 95 AD while exiled on Patmos. God gave him visions of the future, judgement on evil, and the final victory of Jesus Christ. It shows trials for the church, the return of Christ, the defeat of Satan, and a new heaven and earth.

You will find vivid pictures of heaven, warnings to churches, and promises for those who endure. This book gives hope to sufferers and shows God's plan to make all things new.

Favourite quote

In Revelation 21:4, John sees the new creation:

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

These words promise an end to all suffering. God will remove every hurt in His new world.

What I Loved

The throne scene in chapter 4 grips me. John sees a door open in heaven and the Lord on His throne, surrounded by worship (Revelation 4:1-11). Creatures and elders cry "Holy, holy, holy" without stop. This glimpse of God's glory reminds me that He rules over everything, no matter how bad things look on earth.

Key Takeaway

Revelation teaches that Jesus wins in the end. Evil powers rage, but Christ returns as King to judge and renew creation. The book calls us to stay faithful, reject compromise, and overcome by the blood of the Lamb. It reminds us to look forward to the city where God dwells with His people forever.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Letter of Jude is a short, urgent warning from Jude, brother of James and Jesus, written around 65–80 AD. He fights false teachers who crept into the church, twisted grace into licence for sin, and denied Christ’s authority. Jude calls believers to contend for the true faith and reminds them of God’s past judgements on rebels.

You will find strong words against error, examples from history, and a beautiful doxology. This brief letter arms anyone who wants to spot false teaching and stand firm.

Favourite quote

In Jude 1:20-21, Jude urges:

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

These lines give clear steps to stay strong: build on faith, pray in the Spirit, stay in God’s love, and wait for Jesus.

What I Loved

The doxology at the end lifts me every time: “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy” (Jude 1:24). This praise reminds me that God Himself guards and perfects His people, which brings great comfort.

Key Takeaway

Jude teaches that false teachers will come, but God judges sin and saves the faithful. We must fight for the true gospel, show mercy to doubters, and hate sin. The letter calls us to build our faith, help others carefully, and trust God’s power. It reminds us that glory belongs to Him alone, who keeps us safe.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Third Letter of John is a very short personal note from the apostle John, written around 85–95 AD, to his friend Gaius. John praises Gaius for his faithfulness and hospitality to travelling teachers. He warns against Diotrephes, a leader who loves power and rejects authority. John also commends Demetrius.

You will find encouragement for helping God's workers and a warning against pride in church. This tiny letter shows how truth and love work in real relationships.

Favourite quote

In 3 John 1:11, John advises:

Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

These words urge us to copy good examples. Good actions show we belong to God.

What I Loved

The praise for Gaius in verses 3-4 moves me. John says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” This joy of seeing others stay faithful touches any who teach or guide believers.

Key Takeaway

Third John teaches that we must support those who spread the gospel and reject those who seek control. Hospitality to true teachers brings blessing. The letter calls us to walk in truth, love the brothers, and follow good examples. It reminds us that God sees our actions and rewards faithfulness.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Second Letter of John is a short note from the apostle John, written around 85–95 AD, to a chosen lady and her children, likely a church and its members. John warns against false teachers who deny that Jesus came in the flesh. He urges them to walk in truth, love one another, and not welcome deceivers.

You will find a clear call to hold the true teaching about Christ and to show love through obedience. This brief letter guards believers from error.

Favourite quote

In 2 John 1:6, John writes:

And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

These words tie love to obedience. We show love for God by keeping His commands.

What I Loved

The warm greeting in verses 1-3 touches me. John calls himself the elder and speaks of love in truth to those who know the truth. This simple start shows the bond among believers who share the same faith in Jesus.

Key Takeaway

Second John teaches that truth and love go together. We must obey God's commands and reject teachers who deny Christ's human nature. The letter calls us to love one another and watch out for deceivers who lead people astray. It reminds us to stay faithful to what we first learned about Christ.

So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The First Letter of John was written by the apostle John around 85–95 AD to churches he knew well. He fights false teachers who denied Jesus came in the flesh and lived without concern for sin. John stresses fellowship with God, love for others, obedience, and confidence that Jesus is the true Son of God.

You will find tests of real faith, warnings against loving the world, and assurance of eternal life. This book helps anyone who wants to know if their faith is genuine.

Favourite quote

In 1 John 4:7-8, John writes:

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

These two sentences link love directly to knowing God. True believers show love because God is love.

What I Loved

The opening in chapter 1 grips me. John says he writes about what he has seen and touched—the Word of life, Jesus Himself (1 John 1:1-3). This eyewitness truth makes the message real and invites us into fellowship with God and His people.

Key Takeaway

First John teaches that God is light and love, so His children walk in light and love others. We confess sin, obey His commands, and believe in Jesus to prove we belong to Him. The letter calls us to love in action, reject false spirits, and rest in God’s forgiveness. It reminds us that victory over the world comes through faith in Christ.

So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Second Letter of Peter was written by the apostle Peter near the end of his life, around 65–68 AD. He warns against false teachers who deny Christ’s return and live in sin. Peter reminds believers of true knowledge of God, the certainty of prophecy, and the coming day of the Lord. He urges growth in faith and holy living.

You will find strong warnings, encouragement to remember truth, and a call to patience. This book helps anyone who faces false ideas or doubts about Jesus’ return.

Favourite quote

In 2 Peter 3:9, Peter explains God’s patience:

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

These words show God’s kindness. He waits because He wants people to turn to Him.

What I Loved

Peter’s reminder in chapter 1 moves me. He says God has given us “all things that pertain unto life and godliness” through knowing Christ (2 Peter 1:3). Then he lists virtues to add to faith, like knowledge, self-control, and love. This ladder of growth shows how to become more like Jesus.

Key Takeaway

Second Peter teaches that Scripture comes from God, not human ideas, and we must heed it. False teachers will come, but the Lord will judge sin and make a new heaven and earth. The letter calls us to grow in grace, stay alert, and live holy while waiting for Christ’s return. It reminds us to build on the sure promises of God.

So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The First Letter of Peter was written by the apostle Peter around 60–64 AD to Christians scattered across Asia Minor who faced suffering for their faith. Peter encourages them to stand firm, live holy lives, and remember their hope in Christ. He shows how suffering can refine faith and points to Jesus as the example.

You will find comfort in trials, calls to humility, and teaching on submission. This book helps anyone who suffers for doing right or needs strength to live as a stranger in the world.

Favourite quote

In 1 Peter 5:8, Peter warns:

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

This verse calls us to stay alert and clear-headed. The devil seeks to harm, so we must watch and resist.

What I Loved

The words about Jesus in chapter 2 touch me. Peter calls Him “a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious” (1 Peter 2:4). Believers are built into a spiritual house on Him. This picture shows our secure place in Christ, no matter how the world treats us.

Key Takeaway

First Peter teaches that we have a living hope through Jesus’ resurrection. Suffering comes, but God uses it to prove our faith genuine. The letter calls us to live holy, love one another deeply, submit to authority, and follow Christ’s steps. It reminds us that God watches over us and will one day restore all things.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Letter of James, written by Jesus’ brother James around 45–50 AD, is full of practical wisdom for Christians. It deals with trials, temptation, favouritism, controlling the tongue, and fights among believers. James stresses that true faith shows itself in good works and cares for the poor.

You will find short, direct commands and vivid examples from daily life. This book challenges anyone who wants faith that changes how they live.

Favourite quote

In James 1:2-3, James writes:

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

These two sentences teach us to see trials as chances to grow stronger in faith.

What I Loved

The strong words on the tongue in chapter 3 strike me. James calls it “a fire, a world of iniquity” that no man can tame fully (James 3:6-8). Yet he urges us to control it. This warning makes me watch my words more carefully.

Key Takeaway

James teaches that faith without works is dead. We show our trust in God by patience in suffering, care for orphans and widows, and wise speech. The book calls us to draw near to God, resist pride, and pray in faith. It reminds us that God gives wisdom to those who ask and lifts the humble.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Letter to the Hebrews, written around 60–70 AD, speaks to Jewish Christians tempted to turn back to old ways. The unknown writer shows Jesus is better than angels, Moses, priests, and sacrifices. He is the great High Priest who offered Himself once for all sins. The book mixes strong warnings with rich encouragement to hold fast.

You will find deep teaching on Christ’s superiority, faith’s heroes, and the new covenant. This book strengthens anyone who feels weary in faith.

Favourite quote

In Hebrews 4:15-16, the writer says:

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

These two sentences show Jesus understands our struggles and invites us to seek help freely.

What I Loved

The list of faith in chapter 11 inspires me. It names ordinary people who trusted God, Abel, Noah, Abraham, Rahab, and says, “these all... obtained a good report” (Hebrews 11:2). Though they did not see the promise, they kept going. This cloud of witnesses urges me to run my race with patience.

Key Takeaway

Hebrews teaches that Jesus is the final revelation and perfect sacrifice. His blood opens a new way to God, better than the old system. The book calls us to draw near with confidence, hold faith firmly, and endure trials. It reminds us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Letter to Titus is Paul’s short guide to his helper Titus, left on the island of Crete around 64 AD. Paul tells him to appoint good leaders, teach sound doctrine, and correct false teachers. The letter stresses good works that flow from grace and orderly lives in homes and society.

You will find clear instructions for church leaders, different age groups, and slaves. This book helps anyone who wants practical help to live godly in a rough world.

Favourite quote

In Titus 2:11-12, Paul explains:

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

These two sentences show how grace saves and trains us to live right now.

What I Loved

The list of qualities for elders in chapter 1 stands out. They must be “blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children… not self willed, not soon angry” (Titus 1:6-7). This high standard reminds me that leaders must show character at home first, which keeps the church healthy.

Key Takeaway

Titus teaches that God’s grace saves us and changes how we live. Sound teaching leads to good works in every part of life. The book calls us to choose faithful leaders, teach truth firmly, and show godliness to win respect. It reminds us that Jesus gave Himself to make us pure and eager for good deeds until He returns.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Second Letter to Timothy is Paul’s last known letter, written from a Roman prison around 66–67 AD, just before his death. He writes to Timothy like a father to a son, urging him to stay strong in faith, preach the word boldly, and endure hardship. Paul knows his time is short and passes the task of ministry to the next generation.

You will find deep emotion, urgent charges, and confidence in God’s keeping power. This book strengthens anyone who feels alone in serving Christ or faces the end of a chapter.

Favourite quote

In 2 Timothy 1:12, Paul declares:

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

These words sum up the gospel and Paul’s own wonder at grace.

What I Loved

The solemn charge in chapter 4 moves me deeply: “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2). Paul knows false teaching will grow, yet he tells Timothy to stay faithful to Scripture. This call rings clear for every believer who wants to stand firm.

Key Takeaway

Second Timothy teaches that all Scripture is God breathed and useful for teaching and training in righteousness. In hard times we must guard the gospel, endure suffering, and finish our race well. The book calls us to fan into flame God’s gift, reject fear, and rely on His strength. It reminds us that the Lord stands with His servants and will bring us safely home.

So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The First Letter to Timothy is Paul’s personal guide for his young helper Timothy, written around 62–64 AD. Paul tells him how to lead the church in Ephesus, fight false teaching, choose leaders, care for widows, and handle money. It is a practical handbook for church order and godly living.

You will find clear rules for worship, leadership, and daily conduct. This book helps anyone who serves in church or wants to know how a healthy church works.

Favourite quote

In 1 Timothy 1:15, Paul states:

This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

These words sum up the gospel and Paul’s own wonder at grace.

What I Loved

The charge in chapter 6 grips me: “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life” (1 Timothy 6:12). Paul urges Timothy to keep going when it is hard. This battle cry reminds me that faith is active, not passive, and the prize is worth everything.

Key Takeaway

First Timothy teaches that the church must guard sound teaching, pray for all people, and live lives that honour God. Leaders must be above reproach, and everyone must pursue righteousness. The book calls us to flee greed, follow godliness with contentment, and pass the faith to the next generation. It reminds us that Jesus will return as King, so we must serve Him faithfully now.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Second Letter to the Thessalonians was written just months after the first, around 51 AD. Some believers thought Jesus had already returned or was coming any moment, so they stopped working. Others suffered heavy persecution. Paul corrects wrong ideas about the day of the Lord, tells them to keep working, and promises justice when Christ returns.

You will find clear teaching on end times, comfort for the suffering, and a call to steady living. This short book steadies anyone who feels shaken by trouble or false reports.

Favourite quote

In 2 Thessalonians 3:3, Paul assures:

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

This one sentence anchors the whole letter. No matter how fierce the storm, God Himself keeps His people safe.

What I Loved

The picture of Jesus’ return in chapter 1 moves me: “When the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God” (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8). Yet for believers He brings rest. This promise of final justice gives strength to endure wrong now.

Key Takeaway

Second Thessalonians teaches that Jesus will return in power to judge evil and reward faith. Until then we must stand firm, reject idleness, and work quietly. The book calls us to pray for the gospel to spread, trust God’s protection, and live in peace. It reminds us that our faithful Lord will settle every score when He comes.

So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The First Letter to the Thessalonians is Paul’s earliest letter, written around 50–51 AD, only months after he planted the church. He thanks God for their strong faith amid fierce persecution and encourages them to keep living holy lives. The letter also gives the clearest teaching on the return of Jesus and what happens to believers who die before that day.

You will find warm fatherly love, comfort about death, and a strong call to hope. This book helps anyone who faces trouble or wonders about the future.

Favourite quote

In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Paul gives three short commands:

Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

These two sentences show God’s will in every situation: stay joyful, keep praying, always thank Him.

What I Loved

The promise in chapter 4 lifts my heart. Paul says that at Jesus’ coming, “the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). This picture of reunion with loved ones and with Jesus removes fear of death.

Key Takeaway

First Thessalonians teaches that Jesus will return suddenly and surely. Until then we must live pure, love one another, and work quietly. The book calls us to encourage each other with the hope of resurrection and to comfort the grieving with these words. It reminds us that our labour for the Lord is never wasted, because He is coming back for us.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Letter to the Colossians is Paul’s short but powerful answer to false teaching in Colossae around 60–62 AD. He warns against mixing Christ with human rules, angel worship, or secret knowledge. Instead he lifts Jesus as the full image of God, the creator, and the head of the church. The letter shows how to live the new life we have in Him.

You will find some of the highest teaching about who Jesus is, plus clear rules for homes and work. This book guards the heart against empty religion and fills it with Christ.

Favourite quote

In Colossians 2:9-10, Paul writes:

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.

These two sentences settle every question: all of God is in Christ, and in Christ we lack nothing.

What I Loved

The prayer in chapter 1 takes my breath away. Paul asks that we “might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10). This simple, bold request shows what matters most—knowing Jesus and living for Him.

Key Takeaway

Colossians teaches that Jesus is supreme over everything and enough for everything. Because we died and rose with Him, we can put off the old life and put on love. The book calls us to set our hearts on things above, let Christ’s peace rule, and do all in His name. It reminds us that the Christian life is Christ living in us, day by day.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Letter to the Philippians is Paul’s joyful note from a Roman prison around 61–62 AD. He thanks the church for their gift, urges them to stay united, and shows how to rejoice in every situation. Though in chains, Paul overflows with joy because his life is wrapped up in Christ.

You will find one of the happiest books in the Bible, a hymn about Jesus’ humility, and practical help for worry. This letter lifts the spirit when life is hard.

Favourite quote

In Philippians 4:6-7, Paul instructs:

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

These two sentences give a clear path from anxiety to peace: pray, thank, trust.

What I Loved

The Christ-hymn in chapter 2 stops me cold. Jesus “made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant… and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 2:7-8). This downward journey of the Son of God, followed by His exaltation, shows the pattern for all Christian life and the fuel for true joy.

Key Takeaway

Philippians teaches that joy does not depend on circumstances but on knowing Christ. Paul calls us to count everything loss compared to Him, press on toward the prize, and rejoice always. The book reminds us that Christ is our life, our goal, and our strength, so we can face anything with gladness.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Letter to the Ephesians is Paul’s grand picture of God’s plan, written from prison around 60–62 AD. He shows how Christ unites Jews and Gentiles into one new people, the church. The book moves from deep truth about salvation to practical rules for homes, work, and spiritual battle.

You will find rich prayers, praise for grace, and clear calls to walk worthy of your calling. This book lifts the heart and equips the believer.

Favourite quote

In Ephesians 2:8-9, Paul writes:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

These two sentences settle the matter of salvation forever: it is God’s free gift, received by faith alone. They remove all room for pride and fill us with gratitude.

What I Loved

The prayer in chapter 3 stops me every time. Paul asks that we “may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge” (Ephesians 3:18-19). This vast love of Jesus is too big to measure, yet we are invited to know it personally.

Key Takeaway

Ephesians teaches that we are saved by grace, seated with Christ in heaven, and built together into God’s dwelling place. The book calls us to live in unity, purity, love, and readiness for battle with the armour of God. It reminds us that every blessing is ours in Christ, and we are to shine as light until He returns.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Letter to the Galatians is Paul’s sharp defence of the true gospel, written around 48–55 AD. False teachers told Gentile believers they must follow Jewish law to be saved. Paul insists that we are justified by faith in Christ alone, not by works. The letter burns with passion for freedom in Jesus.

You will find clear teaching on grace, the role of the law, and life in the Spirit. This book suits anyone who feels trapped by rules or needs to hear again that Christ sets us free.

Favourite quote

In Galatians 2:20, Paul declares:

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

These words show the heart of Christian life: we die to self and Christ lives in us. They remind me that faith is personal and powerful.

What I Loved

The strong opening in chapter 1 grips me. Paul says he is astonished that they are turning so quickly to another gospel, and then twice pronounces a curse on anyone who preaches a different message (Galatians 1:6-9). This fierce love for the truth stirs me to guard the gospel carefully.

Key Takeaway

Galatians teaches that we are saved by faith in Christ, not by keeping the law. The Spirit produces fruit when we walk by faith, not rules. The book calls us to stand firm in freedom, love one another, and boast only in the cross. It reminds us that in Christ there is neither Jew nor Gentile, we are all one family by grace.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Second Letter to the Corinthians is Paul’s most personal letter, written around 56 AD. He defends his ministry, explains his hardships, and begs the church to forgive a sinner and stay loyal to the true gospel. Full of emotion, it shows comfort in suffering, the joy of giving, and the power of weakness.

You will see Paul’s heart-broken yet hopeful, boasting only in Christ. This book helps anyone who feels weak, hurt by church, or needs strength to keep going.

Favourite quote

In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Jesus tells Paul:

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

Paul adds: Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

These words turn weakness into a place where God’s power shines brightest. They comfort me when I feel unable.

What I Loved

The picture in chapter 4 moves me: “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7). Paul says we are plain clay jars holding the priceless gospel. This keeps pride away and shows God loves to use ordinary, cracked people.

Key Takeaway

2 Corinthians teaches that God comforts us in trouble so we can comfort others. Ministry flows from weakness, not strength, and generous giving brings joy. The book calls us to forgive, trust Paul’s gospel, and fix our eyes on unseen glory. It reminds us that Christ’s power rests on the humble, and one day turning our frail bodies into glorious ones.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The First Letter to the Corinthians is Paul’s firm yet loving reply to a troubled church in Corinth around 55 AD. He tackles division, sexual sin, lawsuits, marriage problems, disorder in worship, and confusion about the resurrection. Paul stresses unity, love, and the power of the cross over human wisdom.

You will find practical advice, strong correction, and the famous chapter on love. This book helps anyone who wants to see how the gospel shapes real church life.

Favourite quote

In 1 Corinthians 13:13, Paul writes:

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

This short line crowns the love chapter. It tells us that love outlasts everything and matters most in God’s eyes.

What I Loved

The simple truth in chapter 1 grips me: “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18). Paul refuses flashy speech and rests everything on Christ crucified. This keeps me grounded, God’s power lies in weakness, not cleverness.

Key Takeaway

1 Corinthians teaches that the church is Christ’s body and must live in unity, purity, and love. Our gifts are for serving others, not showing off. The book calls us to put love first, honour marriage, worship decently, and hold firm to the resurrection hope. It reminds us that Jesus’ death and rising give victory over every problem.

So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Book of Romans is a letter from Paul to the church in Rome, written around 57 AD. It explains the gospel clearly: all have sinned, salvation comes by faith alone, and God’s grace changes lives. Romans covers God’s plan for Jews and Gentiles, holy living, and future hope.

You will find deep teaching on righteousness, freedom from sin, and God’s love. This book suits anyone who wants a strong grasp of Christian belief.

Favourite quote

In Romans 8:38-39, Paul writes:

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

These words assure us that nothing can cut us off from God’s love. They bring comfort in every trial.

What I Loved

Romans 5:8 hits me hard: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” While we were still enemies, Jesus died for us. This truth of grace, not earned, but given, melts my heart and drives me to worship.

Key Takeaway

Romans teaches that we are saved by faith in Jesus, not works. God’s righteousness is a gift received through trust (Romans 3:23-24). The letter calls us to offer our lives to God, love others, and live in the Spirit. It reminds us that God’s plan includes all who believe, and His love secures us forever.

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Book of Acts, written by Luke around 80 AD, tells what happened after Jesus rose and went to heaven. It shows the Holy Spirit coming at Pentecost and the church growing from Jerusalem to Rome. We follow Peter, Paul, and others as they preach, heal, and face prison for Christ.

You will see miracles, bold speeches, and the gospel reaching Jews and Gentiles. This book fits anyone who wants to learn how the church began and how the Spirit works today.

Favourite quote

In Acts 4:12, Peter declares:

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

This clear statement shows Jesus is the only way to God. It gives courage to share the good news.

What I Loved

The conversion of Saul in chapter 9 grips me. A fierce enemy of Christians meets the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus. He is blinded, then healed, and becomes Paul, the great missionary (Acts 9:1-19). This sudden change proves no one is beyond God’s reach and that He can turn the worst opponent into His servant.

Key Takeaway

Acts teaches that the Holy Spirit empowers believers to spread the gospel. Despite persecution, the church grows because Jesus is alive and building it (Acts 1:8). The book calls us to trust the Spirit, speak boldly, and welcome all who repent. It reminds us that God’s plan moves forward through ordinary people filled with His power.

So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Book of John, written around 90 AD by the disciple John, shows Jesus as the Son of God. It focuses on who Jesus is more than what He did. John picks seven miracles as signs and records long talks with Jesus. The book aims to bring readers to faith in Christ.

You will meet Jesus through deep words, meet people like Nicodemus and the woman at the well, and see His love on the cross. This book helps anyone who wants to know Jesus better and believe in Him.

Favourite quote

In John 3:16, Jesus says:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This verse sums up God's love and the way to life. It offers hope to everyone who trusts Jesus.

What I Loved

The raising of Lazarus in chapter 11 moves me. Jesus weeps, then calls Lazarus out of the tomb after four days (John 11:43-44). This miracle shows Jesus' power over death and His care for friends. It builds my faith that He can bring life in hopeless places.

Key Takeaway

John teaches that Jesus is God in the flesh, the only way to the Father. His signs prove His claims, and His death brings life. The book calls us to believe in Jesus and receive eternal life (John 20:31). It reminds us that knowing Him means loving Him and following His words.

So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Book of Luke, written around 60–80 AD by Luke the doctor, tells Jesus’ life in careful order. It shows Jesus as the Saviour for all people, including the poor, women, and outsiders. Luke includes many parables and details about Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection.

You will find stories of mercy, songs of praise, and Jesus’ care for the lost. This book suits anyone who wants to see Jesus’ love for every person.

Favourite quote

In Luke 15:20, the father runs to his lost son:

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

This picture of the father’s welcome shows God’s joy over one sinner who repents. It offers hope to all who return.

What I Loved

The story of the good Samaritan in chapter 10 grips me. A hated foreigner helps a wounded man when priests pass by (Luke 10:30-37). Jesus says, “Go, and do thou likewise.” This tale breaks barriers and calls us to love anyone in need, no matter who they are.

Key Takeaway

Luke teaches that Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He welcomes sinners, heals the broken, and dies for all. The book calls us to repent, show mercy, and trust His salvation (Luke 19:10). It reminds us that God’s kingdom is for everyone who believes.
