Westerbork Path part 7

Hiked 8.2 kilometres from Hilversum to Baarn.

The stage takes you on a scenic journey from Hilversum to the Goois Nature Reserve, passing through charming small fens and picturesque forests. The ride ends in Baarn, where you’ll find the Jewish monument at the station square. This monument honours the memory of 45 Baarn Jews who were tragically deported and later lost their lives in extermination camps.

Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park

The Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park is a national park in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It’s located in the southern part of the Utrecht Hill Ridge. When it was established in 2003, the park covered an area of 6,000 hectares (15,000 acres) of heathlands, shifting sands, forests, grasslands, and floodplains.

The section between Hilversum and Baarn is a beautiful forest. It was a lovely place to walk through.
