Westerbork Path part 6
Hiked 13.8 kilometres from Hilversum to Hilversum Sportpark.
The beginning and endpoints are situated in close proximity. The route involves traversing a large bend and circling Hilversum, the media hub of the Netherlands. Midway through the journey, the Jeugdalijah monument, which commemorates those who did not return, is encountered. Subsequently, the Hoorneboegse Heide, a vast meadow, is reached, featuring twenty burial mounds and remnants of ancient cart tracks.
Hike report
Hilversum
Started at Hilversum Centraal train station.

Loetje is a restaurant 'chain' (they have a few locations in the Netherlands) where you can eat good meat. The steak is delicious!
Jewish Cemetery, closed today since it is the sabbath.
Some green again
I do not really like to walk through cities or towns. I prefer the nature. But the path takes me where it wants to take me.
Hoorneboegse Heide
The Hoorneboegse heathland, a nature reserve situated south of the urban area of Hilversum, encompasses approximately 190 hectares of protected land managed by the Goois Nature Reserve. Since May 12, 2004, the area has been subjected to cattle grazing, which has maintained its openness and preserved the distinctive vegetation characteristic of heathlands.
