Westerbork Path part 3
Hiked 10.6 kilometres from Weesp to Muiderberg
Along the winding Vecht the stage goes north to Muiden where you have a beautiful view of the impressive Muiderslot on the dike. Along the Dijkweg along the IJmeer you walk to Muiderberg until you see the largest cemetery in the Netherlands on the edge of this place.

Weesp
Weesp is a lovely place to visit. If you’re ever in Amsterdam, make sure to check it out. It’s a really charming town.
Yes they went swimming.
Former synagogue, 1840-1942, there is a plaque on the side of the building that reads:
This was the place where they meet the eternal (God) and each other. Until they were just gone.

Walking towards Muiderberg

There’s Pampus in the distance. Pampus is an artificial island and fort near Amsterdam in the Netherlands. It was built way back in the late 19th century as part of the Defence Line of Amsterdam, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its main job was to protect the entrance to the IJ Bay and the harbour of Amsterdam from naval attacks, especially from countries like Germany or France.
