Westerbork Path part 23
Hiked 14.1 kilometres from Meppel to Koekange.
You start your journey in the charming city of Meppel, where you’ll find a monument in the Slotplantsoen. From there, you’ll head to Koekange, a place known as ‘Luilekkerland.’ The name was given by the miners to give a positive spin to the peat extraction process and offer some comfort against the hardships of their daily lives.
