The Holy Bible - Ruth

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

Why should you read the Book of Ruth? It’s a short book, but it’s packed with faith, loyalty, and God’s amazing plan. It tells the story of Ruth, a Moabite woman who chose to follow the God of Israel and was blessed beyond measure.

As it is written:

“Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.” (Ruth 1:16)

This book teaches us that God is always working in the lives of those who trust in Him, even during tough times.

Favourite quote

“The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.” (Ruth 2:12)

It shows how God blesses those who seek Him. Ruth left her home and family, but in doing so, she found God’s favour and blessing.

What I Loved

Ruth was the epitome of loyalty and faith. Despite being a widow in a foreign land, she remained devoted to Naomi, her mother-in-law, and in her trust in the Lord.

Her story is a testament to the fact that God’s plans are far greater than we can fathom. She went from working in the fields as a poor stranger to becoming the wife of Boaz and an ancestor of King David, and ultimately, of Jesus Christ. The Lord weaves even the smallest of lives into His grand plan of redemption.

Key Takeaway

The Book of Ruth teaches us that being faithful and humble is rewarded by God. Even in the darkest times, He’s working everything out for our good.

The main lesson is this: Trust in the Lord’s plan, because He’s always faithful. As it is written:

“Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” (Psalm 37:5)

So, let’s walk in faith, knowing that the Lord’s blessings are all around us, like a warm hug from His wings.
