The Holy Bible - Mark
The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.
Why read it?
The Book of Mark, written around 60-70 AD, tells the story of Jesus' life and work. It shows Jesus as the suffering servant who acts with power. Mark writes for Gentiles. He focuses on Jesus' deeds more than His words. The book covers miracles, teachings, and the cross.
You will see quick action, faith in trials, and Jesus' call to follow Him. This book fits anyone who wants to grasp Jesus' power and the cost of discipleship.
Favourite quote
In Mark 10:45, Jesus explains His mission:
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
This verse shows Jesus' service and sacrifice. It calls us to serve others as He did.
What I Loved
The healing of the paralytic in chapter 2 moves me. Friends lower him through the roof to reach Jesus. Jesus forgives his sins and tells him to walk (Mark 2:5-12). This act shows faith's power and Jesus' authority over sin and body. It reminds me that bold trust brings change.
Key Takeaway
Mark shows Jesus as the Son of God who serves and saves. His miracles prove His power, but the cross shows His love. The book urges us to believe, deny self, and follow Him (Mark 8:34). It teaches that true faith faces suffering but leads to resurrection life.
