The Holy Bible - Malachi

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

The Book of Malachi shares God's words through the prophet Malachi to Israel after the exile, around 450 BC. It deals with their doubts about God's love, poor worship, and broken promises in marriage and tithes. Malachi calls them to return to God and promises a coming messenger and the Day of the Lord.

You will find questions from God, rebukes for faithless acts, and hope for those who fear Him. This book suits anyone who wants to check their devotion and see God's call for true faithfulness.

Favourite quote

In Malachi 3:10, God challenges:

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

This verse invites trust in God's provision. It shows that obedience brings rich rewards from Him.

What I Loved

The promise in chapter 4 moves me. Malachi says, “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall” (Malachi 4:2). This image of healing and freedom lifts my heart. It points to the Messiah's coming light and restoration for the faithful.

Key Takeaway

Malachi teaches that God wants sincere worship and right living. Israel's half-hearted ways bring rebuke, but God promises to refine and bless those who obey (Malachi 3:16-18). The book urges us to honour God fully, keep our vows, and look for His coming. It reminds us that faithfulness leads to His favour and a bright future.
