The Holy Bible - Joshua

The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.

Why read it?

Why should you read the Book of Joshua? It’s all about God’s faithfulness in keeping his promises. After Moses died, Joshua was chosen to lead the Israelites into the land God had promised their ancestors. It’s a story of conquest, obedience, and God’s amazing victory.

As it is written:

“There failed not ought of any good thing which the Lord had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.” (Joshua 21:45)

This book teaches that when God makes a promise, He will definitely follow through.

Favourite quote

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9)

These words from the Lord to Joshua are a real wake-up call. We don’t have to be scared, because the Lord is always with us, guiding us through thick and thin. Whether we’re facing a tough battle or a challenging situation, He’s got our backs. Trust in Him, and you’ll never be alone.

What I Loved

What I loved most about Joshua was how much faith and courage it took. The Israelites, led by Joshua, walked across the Jordan River on dry ground, just like their ancestors had done with the Red Sea. The walls of Jericho fell not because of their army, but because of their faith.

One of the memorable moments was when Joshua stood up to the people and said, ‘We’re going to do this!’

“Choose you this day whom ye will serve; … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)

This book is a testament to the power of trusting in the Lord. The battles were not won by the might of men, but by the hand of God.

Key Takeaway

The Book of Joshua teaches us that faith and obedience lead to victory. Even when we face challenges, the Lord is powerful enough to deliver us.

The main message is this: Stay strong and trust in the Lord, because He’s fighting for us. As it says in the Bible:

“One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the Lord your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.” (Joshua 23:10)

So let’s be brave in our faith, knowing that God is with us and He’ll do everything He said He would.
