The Holy Bible - Exodus
The Holy Bible is a collection of books. So I have split them up. I will read it in 1 year, every day ~15 minutes of reading.
Why read Exodus?
It is a story about God’s amazing power, showing how He freed His people from slavery with incredible signs and wonders. God heard the cries of the Israelites and sent Moses to lead them out of Egypt. In this book, you will see not only the miracles of God, but also His holy law given to His people on Mount Sinai.
As it is written, “I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage” (Exodus 20:2). The story of Exodus is about finding redemption, making a promise, and being led by God, it is like a sneak peek at the bigger rescue that Jesus will bring.
Favourite quote
And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. (Exodus 33:15)
Moses had some profound words to share. He said, ‘There’s no journey worth taking unless the Lord is with us.’ Now, Israel was promised a land full of goodness, but Moses was not after that. He wanted God Himself. That’s the real deal, folks. True faith isn’t about chasing after God’s blessings; it’s about seeking Him out.
What I Loved
One of the beautiful things about Exodus is how God stayed true to Himself. Even though the people grumbled and doubted, He led them with a cloud by day and a fire by night. He even gave them manna from heaven and water from a rock, showing them that He was taking care of them even in the desert.
The delivery of the Ten Commandments upon Mount Sinai was a moment of divine grandeur, during which the Lord proclaimed His sacred law to His selected people. Despite their imperfections, such as the creation of the golden calf and their lack of faith, God did not abandon them but continued to lead them toward the Promised Land.
Key Takeaway
The Book of Exodus is a tale of freedom, faithfulness, and God’s constant presence. It shows that He is not just a powerful God, but also a God who makes promises and wants His people to live holy lives before Him.
The main idea is this: God is our saviour, and He guides His people with His powerful hand. As it says: “And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” (Exodus 33:14).
So, lets put our trust in the Lord, even when things get a bit tricky, because He is always there for us, no matter what.
