Wonder by Hillsong United

Wonder is Hillsong United's sixth studio album, released in June 2017. The Australian collective builds big, atmospheric worship, and here the theme is awe, the kind that comes from looking hard at the world and the maker behind it. I came to it for that sense of being small under a wide sky, and it held me.

Why listen?

The sound is spacious and modern, layered with guitars, synths, and slow swells. The production is clean and cinematic, made to fill a room and then keep growing. The lyrics turn on creation, doubt, and trust, asking honest questions and still choosing praise. There is a real sense of journey here, the music climbing and falling like a long day on a ridge. It rewards a full, unhurried listen.

The way the song widens from the smallest seed to the furthest star, then folds it all back to a single choice to follow, is its lasting gift. It reminds me of pausing high on a hill at dusk, the valley going dark and the first stars coming out, and feeling part of something far larger. The song says that if all creation answers its maker, then so can I, and that has stayed with me.
