The service keeps tabs on various camera providers:
VDCAssistantfor the built-in FaceTime cameraiOSScreenCaptureAssistantfor connected iOS device screens- Camera Extension plugins from third-party apps (virtual cameras)
- UVC camera helpers for external USB cameras
When an app asks "what cameras are available?", it checks this list.
