What is PowerUIAgent?
PowerUIAgent shows power warnings and battery alerts on your Mac.
What does it do?
It runs behind the scenes and pops up messages when something changes with your power or battery. These include:
- "Battery is low" warnings
- "Battery is fully charged" alerts
- "Battery service recommended" notices
- Charging status changes
- Power cable plugged in or unplugged
- UPS power warnings
- Alerts when the processor slows down due to heat
Does it control the battery icon?
Yes. PowerUIAgent feeds information to the battery icon in the menu bar and triggers alerts when the power state changes.
Should you worry?
No. It is a normal macOS process. If you keep getting odd power alerts, the problem is with your battery or power source, not with PowerUIAgent itself.
