What is installcoordination_proxy?

installcoordination_proxy is a helper process for the installation system on macOS.

What is installcoordination_proxy?

installcoordination_proxy sits between apps that request installations and the installcoordinationd daemon. It passes installation requests through a secure channel, so apps can trigger installs safely.

When does it run?

It runs when an app asks for something to be installed: downloading from the App Store, installing an update, or managing an app. It passes the request on to the right installation daemon.

Should you worry?

No. It is a standard part of macOS installation plumbing.
