Great Rivers Path part 7
Hiking from Bergambacht to Ameide (22.61 km).
On the Lek with the narrow floodplains lies silver city Schoonhoven. Under the beautiful Veerpoort you take the ferry to the other side of the Lek to Nieuwpoort. The route goes right through the small fortified town where the street pattern is still the same as in 1700, with the Waag and the beautiful town hall.
