Swift Extension for Visual Studio Code

As Swift is deployed across more platforms, it is important that Swift can be developed on more platforms as well. The Swift Extension for Visual Studio Code provides a cross-platform solution for Swift development supporting macOS, Linux, and Windows.

The Swift Extension for Visual Studio Code offers a cross-platform development environment for Swift on macOS, Linux, and Windows, addressing the lack of a first-class IDE outside Apple’s ecosystem.

It integrates components like SourceKit-LSP and LLDB DAP into a pre-configured package for Swift Package Manager projects, auto-generating build and debug configurations. Features include a package dependencies view, test explorer UI, and support for multi-project workspaces and container-based development with Docker.

The Swift Server Workgroup encourages community contributions to expand features, with issues and ideas welcomed through the project’s repository.
