The Swift programming language is migrating to a dedicated GitHub organisation at GitHub.com/swiftlang, reflecting its growing versatility and community maturity beyond Apple’s ecosystems.

This phased transition, starting with the swift-evolution repository, will include core components like the compiler, standard libraries, and Swift.org website, aiming to foster collaboration and expand Swift’s reach across platforms.

The move involves community groups like the Core Team and Swift Server Workgroup, with a focus on governance, contributor roles, and enhanced CI testing to ensure production readiness.
