O.K. Corral by Éric Adam

Why read the book?
In the silver town of Tombstone, the lawman Wyatt Earp and his brothers clash with the rough Clanton and McLaury clan. Old grudges, stolen cattle and wounded pride push both sides towards a showdown. Lucky Luke, riding with Jolly Jumper, lands in the middle of the bad blood as it heads for its violent peak.
The album retells the most famous gunfight in Western lore with the series' usual mischief. Goscinny's heirs play with the legend, the rival brothers and the swaggering Doc Holliday, while Lucky Luke tries to keep the body count down.
Favourite quote
Everyone in this town wants the last word, and most aim to say it with a gun.
What I Loved
Tying the cowboy into the O.K. Corral legend is a fine idea, and the build up of tension between the factions is handled with relish. The famous figures are drawn with affection and a wink.
It turns a grim slice of history into lively, knowing comedy.
Key Takeaway
A playful retelling of the West's most famous gunfight, with Lucky Luke caught in the crossfire.
