Why read the book?
Daisy Town springs up overnight as settlers pour west, and the new town quickly fills with gamblers, crooks and gunmen. The desperate citizens hire Lucky Luke as sheriff to bring order, and he takes on the lawless rabble, including the four Dalton brothers, Joe, William, Jack and Averell.

The sweep of a whole town rising from nothing gives the book real energy, and the Daltons add reliable comic menace. The film origins show in its lively staging and big set pieces.
